Can I use margarine in my cookie recipe?

Many recipes give the choice of using butter or margarine and the choice is yours for most recipes.

It is however important to remember to never use diet, whipped or liquid margarine for baking.

These spreads contain water and won't provide enough fat for your cookie to bake properly.
